Blog Award!

A blog award after so long I don't remember when! I am so grateful there is someone appreciates my little corner here where I blog about little things and random thoughts.*smile* Thank you Nikki from 'The Little Nordic Cabin' whom always drops by and visit my humble blog and leaves lovely comments. Nikki's blog is always about inspirations and I love that she always reviews a couple of good books for readers :) Do visit her little Nordic cabin, it's really lovely and cozy I promise! 

It's going to be a long post, so here how it goes..

Nikki's questions for me:

1. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

You know when you were just a little kid with innocent thoughts, there were so many possibilities while we still didn't know what 'reality' is and why we need to face it? I have been dreaming about the grown-up me doing various jobs! I thought I could be all of them, how silly! I learnt my piano at age of 5 and at that time, I always wanted to be a pianist that performs at concerts all over the world. It didn't came true, I gave up not because I wanted but being an Asian kid, Asian parents believe education comes first. Then, when I was grown up a little, I wanted to be a landscape designer, interior designer, food scientist, a pastry cafe owner, a hotel manager.. well, I will continue in my next question. 

2. What did you actually grow up to become/what are you actually becoming?

I am currently a final year student BA Degree (Commerce) Public Relations and Management. Well sounds fancy huh. People been asking " PR? Do you mean human resource? No? What is it?" It's a career where you do media clippings, planning proposal for a company, something like a consultant giving ideas to maintain one organisation's reputations and make sure they do their responsibility to the target public. You can do it in various industry. Consultancy is the common one. For me, I have been aiming to be a PR agent in event planning agency, a hotel and even an editor in food magazine. I love planning events and giving ideas for strategies. F&B and events were my top choice during my Diploma study in hotel. My passion in food never ceased until now. Food itself is a combination of art, science, story of how it made and named, culture of that country and even just because it is a comfy food that makes you feel right when everything goes wrong. I really hope after I graduate next year, I could get my dream job anything related to food, hotel and events. 

3. Why do you blog?

If you are my loyal reader. You would know that I blog about my wishes and thoughts. I started when I was 14.  It is my personal corner where I can totally spread my thoughts and share my life with my close friends who read this. We have been separated away from our hometown for our future. I don't want to lost contact with them so we always blog and keep up to date with each other. We always busy with our assignments and exams with different schedule. It is really been hard to have a common date to meet up each other especially when we are in different places, far away. This blog helps us to know what have been happening in our life. 

4. If you could have any super power, what would it be?

If I could have any super power. It would be ability of being teleports to places I wanted to be.

5. Which moment in your life so far are you most proud of?

I am a timid and shy person. During my hospitality study in a big city, I always being left out by my classmates. In the end of the last semester of my study, we were given a final task to up-selling menu to a customer ( our food and bev. lecturer) one by one. We were given few days to do research and memorize food and beverages (alcohol and non alcohol drinks) on the menu. Lecturer was giving everyone a hard time and I was the almost the last one to go.

In the middle of the exam, our lecturer was so disappointed that he stopped it. No one could even get him order something to eat because they couldn't answer his questions/requirement. He asked for a last call and no one dare to make a move. I braved myself and said " I would like to give it a go."

In the end, I sold out aperitif, appetizer, main course, dessert and wines to pair of -- a whole full set. My lecturer was really impressed and my classmates were surprised. Last month, I was back to the uni and visited his class in a restaurant (my junior invited me) and he still remembers my name and that moment which I am most proud of.

6. Is there a book you think everybody should read?

Bible. Teaching of God's wisdom for our life.

I can't just pick one! Here's another. Harry Potter, the whole collection. Seriously. The first English novel I ever read, at age of 11. I couldn't get my hand off it when I first read it in a bookstore. My first Harry Potter collection is actually start off with the 3rd book - Prisoner of the Azkaban. I still love it until today.

7. Do you remember what you were doing on this day last year?

*Flashback* I think I was anticipating for Christmas as well! It was uni holidays. I pretty sure I was on a visit to my boyfriend uni and had a fun trip. We went shopping, picnic, movie and catch up with old friends. 

8. 1 year from now, where would you like to be?

I am graduating next year. I hope a year from now at this time, I could find my dream job in oz with a reasonable pay and start my grown up life without depending on my parents too much.

9. What is your favourite country you've ever visited?

Taiwan! It is such a nice place with awesome food, beautiful scenery and warm-hearted people everywhere! But make sure you are capable to squeeze among the narrow street full with food!  

10. Do you have any sweet family traditions?

Hmm, not really. The only thing I can think of is we always have a steamboat dinner with lots of good food cooked by mom during Chinese festival time. 

11. What is your favourite song at the moment?

Songs that are currently playing on my blog! I update them times to times. :)

11 Facts about Myself
Note: I do have 7 facts beside my blog roll. Here are some bonus.

1. I have sleep deprived often. Sometimes I sleep more than 13 hours, sometimes I could stay up 24 hours!

2. I am a skin-care holic. I love to buy anything that I think is good for my skin. Face masks, moisturizers and toner are my most buy items.

3. 5 feet 1" (appx. 155cm) tall. My boyfriend is 6 feet (180cm) tall! He always rest his chin on my head when we're standing :/ 

4. I am not afraid of any bugs but I am extremely afraid of reptiles or any cold blooded animals.

5. I wanted to have a Corgi as my pet dog and named it Meatball. I used to have 3 puppies named: Coffee, Rocky and Milk Tea.

7. I am fear of deep water. I know how to swim but I can only swim underwater, not floating. :/

8. May be you knew already. Christmas is my favorite season of all! 

9. I play music instruments -- piano (grade 7), clarinet (play in band for 4 years), cello (beginner but stopped because I was leaving for study) and I'm starting on a ukulele now.

10. I can't live a day without rice. Malaysian food (mamak and chinese food) and Taiwanese food are my favorite! 

11. Things I dislike. I dislike people who are spending their parents money on branded stuff and being boastful about it, be it guy or girl. I dislike girls whom showing too much skin/ sticks on guy whom already has a girlfriend.

She is the first foreign blogger ever replies and visits my blog. She also the one whom nominated me a blog award too. She always leaves me nice comments that never failed to put a big smile on my face. Her blog is sweet and lovely just like how she looks :) 

2. Crystal (Crysyy). You Don't Have To Be English to Drink Tea

She is from my little hometown. She is random and unpredictable. She is a sassy lady with smart thinking. It is safe to say she is a bit rebellious so I'm not sure if she will do this tag. But I really want her to write it because it's fun to read. My twitter would be dead without her tweets. Imagine that. :) Her blog is really sassy 

3. Qinyi 青春的回忆 (Youth Memory)

She's a friend for 8 years. She is an over enthusiastic girl, forever energetic. She always cheer me up with her silly actions and jokes. Her blogging style is honest and it's all about her study or travelling life. Most of her posts are in Chinese tho. If you know how to read, you can check out her blog. 

4. Zixian. I Love You For A Thousand Years 

She started her blog last year. She shares her study experiences and moments in Switzerland. Her blog is really sweet and cheesy just like the name given. Just like me, She and her bf are in long distance relationship but further and longer time than I am. It's not easy to maintain yet this couple is unusually sweet. 

                                                    5. Melody. La Vie En Rose
La Vie En Rose , Life in pink. She is HUGE fan of anything with pink, hello kitty and iphone casings. We were in the same high school but only came close in our Twitter wonderland. She is daring, witty and a caring sister to her brothers :) 

6. Sing Sien. Ups & Downs

I recommend you take a glimpse at her fashionable blog. Her photos are so HD that makes me enjoy reading her blog. She is a classy girl who dresses in chic and dashingly wherever she goes. She does make up/ skin care reviews (my fav!) plus, she just got her new kitty! It's really adorable!
